MACROPHAGE
PMID:20414655, PMID:18792398
Trx is one of the main intracellular oxido-reductases
TXN expression is upregulated in activated macrophages,
DC and probably macrophages secrete thioredoxin which reduces extracellular cystine to cysteine, which is then available for the uptake by T cells through their ASC transporter
TNF-dependent production of ROS triggers the dissociation of Trx from ASK1 and the consequently liberalised ASK1 binds to TRAF2. Finally TRAF2 appears to activate ASK1 (by phosphorylation) by enhancing and stabilising the oligomerisation of ASK1.
