FANCONI

MAP:DNA_REPAIR/MODULE:FANCONI map
Fanconi pathway repairs intra-chormasonal lesions (ICL) by multi-step procedure and requires activity of several DNA repair pathways. The recognition of the damage is done by the Fanconi core complex that is unique for the pathway. For further steps, protein complexes involved in HR, TLS and NER are sequentially recruited. The major characteristic of the pathway is there are no other recognition complexes that capable to recognize ICLs and coordinate the acidity of the down-stream steps except the Fanconi core complex.
