EMT and cell motility map map
During Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal transition in different contexts of embryonic development, wound healing or cancer invasion, tightly zipped and largely immobile epithelial cells transform into highly mobile mesenchymal cells. The process requires excessive cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell polarity changing; disruption of cell-cell adhesions as well as establishment of new adhesion points to the matrix outside.
Those properties are described in the comprehensive molecular interaction network of EMT and cell motility. This version contains 10 interconnected functional modules, covering 1024 proteins; 150 genes; 1600 biological reactions and based on 1300 articles.
