Expression of Cx31.1 reduced mesenchymal marker vimentin level and increased epithelial marker cytokeratin 18 level, indicating that Cx31.1 may regulate molecular pathways leading to a reverse of the EMT process.
Cx31.1overexpression slightly up-regulated E-cadherin expression, indicating that Cx31.1 overexpression mediate only a partial reversion to an epithelial phenotype of NSCLC cells.
